When I met Vian at a career fair, I knew I wanted to work abroad but I wasn’t exactly sure where or when. New Zealand is one country I have always had an interest in living in. After discussing potential possibilities working there, I set up a profile with Vian and he got me in touch with two consultants in New Zealand; Venecia and Neil. After gathering as much information as possible from them, they waited very patiently while I spent a few months working out my life and making decisions. I really appreciated the light touch they used and the lack of consistent and pushy emails trying to get me to commit. When I came around and decided that I wanted to go through with New Zealand, all three of them promptly and efficiently worked together to get me interviews, which shortly afterwards resulted in a job offer at a role and location that are very desirable for me.
Thank you so much Prospero!
Highly recommend using Prospero. They found me through my application on a secure teaching application site and they’re honest in their efforts to secure a job for you. They are employed by school boards to source international teachers so I didn’t have to pay for their services. I worked with Megan who was stationed in Canada and Billie and Georgia, who are in NZ. There was another guy that was really helpful as well, but they all worked really hard to help me get set up and put my portfolio together to get hired. I definitely would not have known where to start without their information and resources.
A legitimate company. Discovered at the career fair for University of Calgary. They don’t get paid until we get secured a position, which they did do for me. Yes, you have to pay for registration as a teacher or to get your documentation approved, but that’s simply the process of qualifying to teach in another country that’s unavoidable.
As for Prospero they interviewed me and then helped me along the way, step by step, towards that goal. I worked with a wonderful consultant named Vian Soosay who was my go-to man for questions, concerns, and help. He was patient, kind and considerate the whole time I worked with him. I highly appreciate and recommend his help. He then connected me with Carla and Neil who live in New Zealand and could answer further questions and actually connect me with a school that would hire me.
Overall I’m quite happy. I am just waiting for all my paperwork to be approved and then my partner and I will be official Kiwi’s starting January 2020. I have already been accepted for a full time position in Aukland! Thank you Prospero, I’m so excited for this adventure!
